Welcome to my MUSTANG page

A little history on the car. It was given to my girlfriend when she was 18 and it was her daily driver until 2000 when we moved from San Jose, CA up to Washington State.

The car had been moderately maintained but lack of funds (and the lack of ability to work on the car herself) had caused it to deteriorate and although it ran, it was in bad shape. It sat for about a year outside until I decided to restore it and drive it from CA to Washington. After sitting it didn’t run hardly at all, and I spent a week getting it road worthy for the trip.

One ironic thing about the car is that when I decoded the data plate, I found out the car was built in San Jose (the place were both my girlfriend and I grew up), but was shipped to a Seattle DSO (74). Somehow the car in it’s life made it BACK to San Jose (where it was purchased by her dad), then driven BACK to Seattle by us to be restored. None of this I knew until the car was almost done, but this little Mustang has made it’s own circle of life!

Here is the information I got of my data plate from Mustang Decoder.com

Anyway, basically everything you see is brand new. It’s practically a 2002 ’65 Mustang! Most of the work was done myself over the course of a year, except the actual paint (I did the prep work), the machine work of the head and installation of the exhaust and cam.

Here are the major improvements I made when I restored the car

Interior/exterior

·          Completely stripped down and repainted Rangoon Red inside and out (PPG base/clear). Doors, hood, trunk all painted off the car.

·          POR15 entire interior

·          All new interior upholstery, carpet, door panels, headliner, kick panels, instrument gauges – the works

·          Pony interior conversion (except for door panels)

·          Added factory center console

·          Aftermarket AutoMeter Chrome Tach (very happy with myself as I spent the time to install in the factory harness where the rally-pac went)

·          Pioneer MP3 player and 10 disc CD changer with Infinity speakers (the dash was already somewhat hacked by P/O)

·          All new outside chrome

·          American Racing 15x7 4 lug wheels

Engine/Drivetrain

·          B&M “Stage 1” shift kit for C4

·          Rebuilt entire suspension system (new springs front/back, perches, control arms)

·          Comp Cams 252H

·          ’73 “big log” 250 head milled to 50cc’s, installed 1.75 intake valves, Clifford port divider, 4-angle valve job, hardened seats

·          Adjustable rocker arms from a ‘64 170 car with new pushrods

·          Carter RBS carb from ’73 250

·          Export brace

·          Clifford 6-1 headers with 2in exhaust and Dynomax muffler (installed in the V8 location)

·          Duraspark 2 conversion

·          1in front swaybar and poly bushings

·          New wiring harness

·          Dual master Cylinder power brake conversion

·          Chrome goodies

THE PROGRESSION
Unfortunately, I didn’t take very many before pictures. What you see here are basically three similar images taken at different stages. Stripped and ready for paint. Back from paint, and finished!

I just like these shots together in one place.
